Sometimes in this life, we get stuck in the hamster wheel. We are running,
running, running, not getting anywhere new, but simply trying to keep up with
the situation. This is certainly frustrating, but it comes part and parcel with any
ambition, and with the right attitude it presents an opportunity. If one learns to
be inwardly still in these moments, it paves the way to deeper learnings - and
maybe even better beer.
Hamster Wheel Didactics is a beer born of a week of intensely hard work
begotten by a COVID riddled workforce nightmare. It features a new yeast
we’ve never tried before, and Citra, Wai-iti, and Nectaron hops for lush tropical
juice vibes. The malt profile is a product of hard fought trial and error of hazies
past - oats for just enough silky mouthfeel, and wheat to help with the body and
haze.
Note this video below is for the first version of Hamster Wheel we brewed which was 7.0% not 5.6% but apart from that is basically the same beer.
