Malty, with a biscuity sweetness that leads to nutty chocolate vibes, the decadence of this beer is contradicted by its drinkability.
A bock is a German style that may date back to the 1300s and the lower Saxon city of Einbeck. Essentially, it is a strong dark malty cold-fermented lager. The extra ABV helped with preservation back in the day as Einbeck brewers were often sending their beer far away. There are also a range of different types of bock, such as maibock (paler and hoppier), weizenbock (wheat bock), doppelbock (double bock) and eisbock (ice bock - fractionally distilled extra strong bock).
Our bock, is just a simple ol’ bock and we’ve brewed it as traditionally as we could using German Munich Malt, a lager yeast strain from Berlin, German Hallertauer hops, a complicated step mash (not decoction - sorry) and cold fermenting and conditioning for two months. Ist gut!
